OK, now for more guesswork. A IIci can't run a version of Mac OS too high to host the rocket. I'm running a Rocket in a Quadra 950 with Mac OS 8.1 for the motherboard. You could run a version too low for the Rocket. Rocketshare requires at least System 7.1 on the motherboard.


If I remember right, the Rocket is less finicky about parity for RAM SIMMS than most Macs but requires relatively fast memory which is measured in nanoseconds (ns) for 30 pin SIMMS. What kind of machine did you pull the RAM from? If it was something in the Mac II series or older it might be too slow for the Rocket. They require the speed used by Quadras (something like 60 or 80ns if I remember right). You can always use faster SIMMs in slower machines but the reverse doesn't always work (and degrades performance if it does work at all).
