The company that processes our ACH payments also offers check by phone, and we love them: ACH Commerce, 800-724-8780, www.achcommerce.com
They are very economical compared to credit card fees or manually posting checks. We also use them to direct-deposit our employee payroll. We didn't have to buy any software or equipment. We pay a monthly fee and a per-item fee. To take a check by phone payment we log onto their Payment Gateway, enter the customer's reg #, banking info, and payment amount, then post the payment in Rodopi. For our ACH payments we use Batch Payments (under Additional Tools in v5.2) to export the customer information, then post the payments as a batch. The whole ACH process takes me less than 10 minutes each week to process and post 100-150 payments.
