Hmm, strange, those errors should only be non-fatal warnings by default.
What is your Linux distribution? What compiler do you use? Which version
of your compiler? Did you specify -Werror in your CFLAGS ? Did you run
./configure <options> or ./autogen.sh <options> ?

And what is the result of:
  $ head config.log
