mitten im Sommerloch besucht uns am Sonntag den 7. August der Kanadier
Patrick Harrop, Simondon Spezialist und Architekur- /
Klangtheoretiker. Er wird eine sonische Theorie basieren auf Simondons
Technikphilosophie entwerfen und danach einige seiner damit
zusammenhängenden Kunstwerke präsentieren. Simondon ist hierzulande ja
vor allem durch Bernard Stiegler bekannt geworden. Hier gäbe es die
Gelegenheit klanglich motivierte Alternativinterpretationen seines
Werkes dargelegt zu bekommen.

Patrick Harrop: Gilbert Simondon and Sonic Theory
This paper will elaborate a sonic theory based on Gilbert Simondon’s
philosophy of technology, which uses strong sonic and vibrational
metaphors for describing technical objects via transductive processes.
Gilbert Simondon is a still much unknown key figure of french theory,
who strongly influenced thinkers such as Michel Foucault, Gilles
Deleuze, Bernard Stiegler, Eric Alliez and others. The session will
first present some theoretical concepts and then will show some
concrete artworks related to the theory.
