call for participation tracing Godwin
For the exhibition tracing mobility the artist georg klein is looking for people in Europe, who want to participate in the project tracing Godwin : Godwin is an illegal immigrant from Nigeria, who came via Libya and Lampedusa to Naples. Without language knowledge, without passport, without familiy support and without professional education his perspective is bad. But he doesn't complain. For selling Godwin has to appear in public. As an illegal he has to avoid the public. Nowhere in Europe he is welcome. He is not allowed to go further. His trace is now extended virtually to countries and cities where Godwin never could come. His photo with the pot clothes he is selling appears in more and more cities in a site-specific way: with the background of just that wall where the poster is hanging. Everybody in Europe can send a photo of a wall, where Godwin should appear. 1 - Send your photo of a wall (upright, frontal perspective, 3m distance, high resolution) to following email adress: god...@georgklein.de Your photo will be used as a background for Godwin and sent back as a jpg-file. 2 - Please print out your Godwin photo in a big format (poster) and hang it at your chosen wall. 3 - Please make a photo of your wall with your Godwin poster and send it back for documentation together with the adress of the wall.
