The MediaArtArchive "Database of Virtual Art" (DVA) is pleased to announce new entries! A few hundred new art works by Julius von BISMARCK, Olga KISSELEVA, Rafael LOZANO-HEMMER, Ashok SUKUMARAN, Carlos KATASTROFSKY, Christophe BRUNO, Eduardo KAC, Fernando ORELLANA, France CADET, Knowbotic Research, David ROKEBY, Simon BIGGS, UBERMORGEN, Ursula DAMM, Roman VEROSTKO, Victoria VESNA and many others were added during the last few months. The DVA is the longest running university-based scientific archive of Media Art and seeks to document and ultimately aid in the preservation of the evolving field of digital installation art. The database is intended for both researchers and artists, where digital media artists are encouraged to post content themselves. The web-based resource is free and allows browsing by artist name as well as keyword. Works, literature, people, events and institutions may also be searched. The DVA represents a scientific selection of approximately approx 5000 evaluated artists. The policy, whether an artist is qualified to become a member is "the number of exhibitions, publications – at least 5, awards and public presentations". The BOARD, which makes suggestions too, is represented by experts like Christiane PAUL, Roy ASCOTT, Erkki HUHTAMO, Gunalan NADARAYAN or Jorge La FERLA. If you work in the field of Media Art Histories, you might want to become a member and help archive qualified artists, institutions and the Media Art events of yesterday and today. www.virtualart.at
