App goes Art // Art goes App: Das ZKM | Karlsruhe ist eine Institution, die sich seit 1989 konsequent in Theorie und Praxis mit den Neuen Medien und deren Wirkung auf die zeitgenössische Kunst und die Gesellschaft auseinandersetzt. Am 13. Juli 2012 verleiht das ZKM | Karlsruhe zum zweiten Mal den internationalen AppArtAward, zusammen mit dem CyberForum e.V. und den Sponsoren Gameforge AG, CAS Software AG, GFT Technologies AG, Jung von Matt/Neckar GmbH, BrandMaker GmbH. Aus über 80 Einreichungen aus 13 Ländern wählt die namhafte Jury unter dem Vorsitz von Peter Weibel die Gewinner aus. Prämiert werden die besten Kunstwerke im App-Format, die in den Bereichen der Interaktivität, Kreativität, des Designs, des Look & Feel, des Innovationsgrades, der Stabilität, der Usability, und bezüglich des künstlerischen Gesamteindrucks (Idee, Konzept, Umsetzung) überzeugen. Ausgelobt werden die drei Kategorien »Künstlerischer Innovationspreis«, »Sonderpreis Game Art« sowie der »Sonderpreis Cloud Art« mit einem Gesamtwert von 30.000 €. Die Preisverleihung findet um 20 Uhr im ZKM_Kubus statt. Ab 22 Uhr sind die BesucherInnen in der App-Lounge zu »App«-eritifs eingeladen und können die App-KünstlerInnen treffen. Now for the second time, the ZKM | Karlsruhe will be presenting the international AppArtAward, together with CyberForum e.V. and the sponsoring companies Gameforge AG, CAS Software AG, GFT Technologies AG, Jung von Matt/Neckar GmbH, BrandMaker GmbH on July 13, 2012. The renowned jury under the chairmanship of Peter Weibel will select the winner from a total of 80 submissions sent in from thirteen countries. The prize will be awarded to the best and most convincing work of art in App-format for interactivity, creativity, design look & feel, degree of innovation, stability, usability, and with respect to the total artistic impression (idea, concept, and implementation). Taken together, the three categories “Prize for Artistic Innovation”, “Special Prize for Game Art” as well as the “Special Prize for Cloud Art” represent a total value of €30.000. The award ceremony takes place at 8 p.m. at the ZKM_Cube. From 10 p.m., visitors are invited to the App-Lounge for ‘App-eritifs’, and will be given the opportunity to meet the award-winning App-artists.
