Therefore a series of events and talks are held and texts, images and other fragments are assembled. This ongoing material collection aims to provoke an open conversation about the artistic practice on the edge of corporate entrepreneurship, individual expression and the aesthetics of the relation of the two. For the second talk in this series we are looking forward to have Byung-Chul Kim as our guest. Byung Chul Kim became famous with the Performnance Hotel, which he held in Stuttgart from 2009 to 2010. You could stay there and offer performances. The Byung Chul Kim's performance hotel became in a very short time a hot spot of the art scene in Stuttgart. A similar principle with the humor restaurant, which he has performed since 2011. Kim cooks different Korean dishes, who tells a good joke or a humorous performance, gets the food for free. Byung Chul Kim will present his various performance practices since 2009, exploring alternative means of exchange and challenges the monopoly of money as a means of exchange. The Institut celebrates its 7th birthday, being awarded a grant for projectspaces and -initiatives by the Berlin Senate and the International Day of the Institution 2017.
