The Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival
takes place annually since 1982 and is organized
by the Filmladen Kassel e.V. The festival
presents contemporary documentary films and
videos, the media art exhibition MONITORING, a
Festival Lounge for Live Visuals and the
interfiction symposium. It attracts a regional
audience, as well as producers and professionals
of the film and media industry from Germany,
Europe and the rest of the world by screening
about 240 international films and videos that are
seen by more than 6,000 guests each year.
This year, the Kassel Documentary Film and Video
Festival will take place from November 7 to 12,
2006. We invite all film makers, media people,
and artists to submit their latest works and
projects to the different sections of the festival program.
AWARDS
The following prizes will be awarded at the festival:
/ "Golden Key" for the best documentary by a
young director (endowed with EURO 5,000)
/ "Golden Hercules" for an outstanding production
from the region of Northern Hesse (endowed with EURO 2,500)
/ "Golden Cube" for the best installation of the
exhibition MONITORING (endowed with EURO 2,500)
/ "A38", a project together with Werkleitz
Gesellschaft, is a three-month
artist-in-residence grant, worth Euro 4,000 and,
additionally, Euro 4,000 for allowance in kind.

Das Kasseler Dokumentarfilm- und Videofest wird
seit 1982 jaehrlich vom Filmladen Kassel e.V.
veranstaltet und ist als Film- und Medienfestival
mit internationaler Ausrichtung und einem starken
Fokus auf die neuen Medien einzigartig in Hessen.
Das Festival praesentiert aktuelle
Dokumentarfilme und Videos, die Ausstellung
MONITORING, eine Festival-Lounge mit
Live-Veranstaltungen und die Fachtagung
interfiction. Die ca. 240 internationalen
Arbeiten werden von ueber 6.000 Gaesten gesehen
und adressieren alljaehrlich sowohl ein
regionales Publikum, wie auch Film- und
Medienschaffende und Professionelle aus
Deutschland, Europa und der ganzen Welt. Das 23.
Kasseler Dokumentarfilm- und Videofest findet vom
7. bis 12. November 2006 statt. Wir laden alle
Film- und Medienschaffenden sowie Kuenstler/innen
ein, sich mit neuen Arbeiten und Projekten fuer
die einzelnen Sektionen des Festivalprogramms zu bewerben.
PREISE
Beim Festival werden folgende Preise vergeben:
/ "Goldener Schluessel" fuer die beste
dokumentarische Nachwuchsarbeit (5.000 Euro Preisgeld)
/ "Goldener Herkules" fuer eine herausragende
nordhessische Produktion (2.500 Euro Preisgeld)
/ "Golden Cube" wird fuer die beste Installation
der Ausstellung MONITORING (2.500 Euro Preisgeld)
/ "A38": Das Festival lobt gemeinsam mit der
Werkleitz Gesellschaft ein Produktions-Stipendium
aus. Der dreimonatige Projektaufenthalt wird mit
4.000 Euro sowie zusaetzlichen Sachleistungen im
Wert von 4.000 Euro unterstuetzt. Weitere
