The only person who initially responded to this suggestion was Matt R,
so I never went through with it. The main purpose was to get a couple
new features in the 3.1.x code that I wanted to use as I worked on some
upgrades to our Hibernate implementation, but I never got around to
doing that work, so it's not relevant yet.
There is no need to do this for the 2.2 release.

releases, but about those errors:
This time, I'm certain that I fixed the Hibernate error message that
appears in the logs when you hit the weblog editor page. Is that the
error that you are talking about or are there others?
