Most blog systems these days do not display the email addresses of
those leaving comments. In Roller, we display commenter emails, but
we obfuscate them. Obfuscation helps, but my feeling is that those
leaving comments would rather not have their email addresses
publicized at all.
We should still store the email addresses and make them available to
blog owners, but we should not display them publicly.
Does anybody object to removing email address displays from comments?
If you object and you feel that email display should be optional,
should "display email address for each comment" be a site-wide
option, a weblog option or both?
