Thanks, Matt. I should have checked that first. >From the roller.log it seems the exception that was causing the problem was a "Illegal mix of collations (latin1_swedish_ci,IMPLICIT) and (utf8_general_ci,COERCIBLE) for operation SQL exception.
I looked up this error in the forum to see if anyone had this problem before and I ran across this post: http://www.nabble.com/Roller-2.0-is-available-t617635c12275.html#a1675102 Which lead me to the roller wiki for setting up mysql with UTF8 instructions. http://rollerweblogger.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=SetupUTF8onMySQL Doing "default-character-set=utf8" in my.ini did not work for me but setting up default encoding for the roller database did: CREATE DATABASE roller DEFAULT CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci; Everything seems to be working now.
