It has long been my opinion that the built-in referrer tracking is a fairly 
error proned feature of Roller which is tough to support in the long run 
because of problems with 1) performance and 2) spam.

My personal suggestion would be to disable the built-in referrer tracking on 
your site by setting the "referrers.processing.enabled=false" in your 
roller-custom.properties file, then use some kind of 3rd party software for 
stats.  Something like Google Analytics will give you far more information than 
just referrers anyways.  You could also just process access logs as well.
