Deleting the corresponding subdirectory under your Tomcat "work" directory
would have worked.
You need not rename each time you install.

What I actually did:
givin the roller-directory a new name, adjust the roller.xml to that new
name.
Now it works !
Whyever, if you just delete the older installation and copy the new one
keeping the old directory name, something 'cached' is used or whatever
and
the new version is not properly recognized.
So renaming keeps you on the secure track.
