You lost me here Edwin, The original post was: I am sorting the commands, here is what I am doing.. help?
I stated the fallacy of sortting the command table. When ROM does its search it would find "News" before "north" if you sorted it, thus making the "N" command useless. N/E/S/W are all the first in the table for this very reason. As someone pointed out, you can make aliases but its a pain to do it for all this. Your do_commands just showed them the output sorted (which is good) but did not actually sort the command table which I belive that qsort was doing in the first post. I actually have code, and did this.. and found this out the hard way when my users screamed bloody murder 5 seconds after the copyover :( Chris -----Original Message----- From: Edwin Groothuis [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sunday, February 24, 2002 11:21 PM To: Chris Litchfield Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: sorting commands by name On Sun, Feb 24, 2002 at 11:20:06PM -0500, Chris Litchfield wrote: > NEWS comes before NORTH in sorting. > > get it? Yes, that's what I said in the second line. But you were refering to "n" and "news", like I said in the first line. In my perspective "n" is stringwise smaller > than "news". Maybe you were confused with "north" being stringwise > bigger than "news". -- Edwin Groothuis | Personal website: http://www.MavEtJu.org [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Interested in MUDs?
