Ok, I've got three questions.
First, has anyone noticed how the ROM team left MANY unnecessary fields
in area files?
Second, WHY does Merc use bitvectors for AFF_* and ACT_* flags? I don't
see any reason too. I mean why can't they just number them? Please don't
laugh if this is a stupid question, but I never seen the point of them.
Now IF they ARE needed, how many of you people would like Ammaross
Danan's Unlimited Bit System thrown in? It is really neat-o too, and was
just wondering. Now I'm sure all of you people on the list have already
heavily modified MUDs, that's why I would like to make simple, newbie
type instructions for heavily-modified-MUDs, and then a patch for
not-so-heavily-modified-MUDs, then a Rom24 codebase with it patched in
already, then instructions for heavily-modified-MUDs with OLC 2.01, then
a patch for not-so-heavily-modified-MUDs with OLC 2.01, and the same for
OLC 1.81.

Like I said I want to modify existing files at least as possible, and by
only having ONE build mode, this is totally plausible.
