*bonks himself* thanks :D i knew strings had to be NULL terminated, and i've been doing this for enough years that i should've known how to fix that... for some reason i could've sworn i had tried setting it to who_name[11] and it hadn't worked, but i just did it again before i sent off a really long email full of my pc_race_table and all the who displays, and it's working fine now :D
