I've done it on a server I'm just messing with, though the concept of
that mud is classless, so it doesn't have the class part you asked about
below.

Pretty much what I did was store the values on the character (so
multiple people can be rolling at the same time), and then allow them to
choose the stat or reroll. Pretty much generate all the stats and store
them in the char_data (I can think of another couple ways to do it, but
this is what I did) and then display them for the roller.

I went a step further and added something ala Baldur's Gate where a
player can store one set of stats as they roll. If ya want to take a
look at what I have, let me know.

Subject: multi line stat rolling

Hey guuys and girls :-)

I'm trying to do a multi-line stat rolling system in char gen on rom.
just
wondering if anyone has done it and if so if they have done it with
class
selection included. For example:

1] Str:18 Wis:15 Con:20 Dex:20 Int:11
2] Str:20 Wis:10 Con:19 Dex:20 Int:19
3] Str:18 Wis:12 Con:14 Dex:10 Int:20
4] Str:10 Wis:15 Con:13 Dex:14 Int:15
5] Str:13 Wis:20 Con:12 Dex:17 Int:14

Pick (1)-(5) or (R)eroll ?

And then once they have choosen their stats, their class selection
appears:

Please choose a class. Valid classes have a * next to them:

[*Mage] [*Warrior] [Cleric] [Thief]
[Ninja] [*Barbarian] [*Knight] [Monk]
[Scout] [*Monger] [*Paladin] [Assassin]
[*Sohei] [Scholar] [*Warlock] [*Warlord]

And the person would only be able to select the class with a * by it.

Any ideas or anyone seen any code like this? I have an idea on how to do

this but wouldn't mind seeing someones version.
