The only problem is amount of memory used... 100 integers per mob takes
up a lot more than 3 or 4.  And since the code is already pretty much
written, I don't see any reason not to just use it instead.

I'm sure the snippet is on Kyndig's, which I think is www.mudmagic.com
now.
