Not nessicaraly.. The descriptor numbers are shared between all open "files". Typically descriptor 0 will be stdin, 1 will be stdout, 2 will be stderr, if you open an fpreserve it will be 3, and so on. If you are at 6 when you just boot up the mud you may have opened a few files or something in the boot up process that you forgot to close.. That might explain how you got up to 6 right away. ~Kender ===== -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version 3.1 GCS/L/C/O d-(+) s++:+ a-- C+++$>++++ UBLS++++$ P+++(--)$ L++>+++ E--- W+>++$ N !o K? w(--) !O M- !V PS+ PE(++) Y+ PGP->+ t- 5 X+() R(+) tv+@ b++(+++) !DI+++ D G(-) e>+++$ h---() r+++ y+++ ------END GEEK CODE BLOCK------ __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
