Actually If you're using the stock startup script, try : nohup ./startup & Nohup will tell it to keep going when you disconnect (hang up the signal). ./startup & will put it in the background so that you can do other things in the shell. I'm most certain this has been covered in the list a few times though. Next time, might want to check the archives before posting.
