Dear Colleagues, The editors of the Review � Transitions � are pleased to invite you to an open call for papers for its special issue focused on the Republic of Moldova. The main themes of this special issue are: a.. The transition process in the Republic of Moldova; b.. Civil society in the Republic of Moldova; c.. The political actors of the Republic of Moldova; d.. The political parties of the Republic of Moldova; e.. Government-opposition relations in the Republic of Moldova; f.. The electoral process in the Republic of Moldova; g.. Governing and democracy in the Republic of Moldova; h.. The problems of the inter-ethnic relations in the Republic of Moldova; i.. Identity constructions in the Republic of Moldova; j.. Transnistrian conflict; k.. The federalization project for the Republic of Moldova; l.. The international relations of the Republic of Moldova; m.. European integration for the Republic of Moldova. This list should not be considered exhaustive. The Review � Transitions � will consider high quality research papers from all fields of the social sciences. Interdisciplinary approaches and contributions from disciplines outside the social sciences are welcome as long as they focus on issues relevant to contemporary Moldavian politics or society. The deadline for the submission of abstracts is 31 january 2004. Abstracts should be no longer than one page, must include the title of the paper and present the key issues dealt with by the paper. They may be drafted either in English or in French. A reading committee will review the proposals, and notification of acceptance will be given by 1 march 2004. The deadline for submission of the contributions under their final electronic form is March 15, 2005. All proposals should be sent by e-mail to: M.
