EU says Romania vote dispute won't hit entry talks
BRUSSELS, Dec 2 (Reuters) - The European Commission
said on Thursday it saw no problem at present with the
conduct of Romania's presidential and parliamentary
elections and it would not affect the conclusion of
Bucharest's EU membership talks.
"These elections seem to have been conducted in an
orderly manner," Commission enlargement spokeswoman
Krisztina Nagy told Reuters, when asked about
opposition charges of fraud.
"Since we do not see any problem at the moment(asta e
un pic derutant-ce inseamna in acest moment?), I don't
see any direct link with the conduct of the accession
negotiations," she said.
Romania is due to wrap up entry negotiations this
month if it overcomes final hurdles on justice and
home affairs and competition policy(eee,we will see),
with a view to joining the EU in 2007 along with
Bulgaria, which has already concluded talks.
Since the EU did not monitor the elections itself and
has no capacity to investigate alleged wrongdoing, its
view would only change if the Organisation for
Security and Cooperation in Europe substantiated fraud
claims, Nagy said.

Romania's next EU negotiating session is scheduled for
next Wednesday, with a provisionally final session
pencilled in for Dec. 14.deci mai avem 2 "tururi"in
