REUTERS FOUNDATION SEEKS APPLICANTS FOR OXFORD PROGRAM -------------------------------------------- Journalists from developing or transition countries have until December 31 to apply for a fellowship program at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. The Reuters Foundation Fellowship brings mid-career journalists to Oxford's Green College for three to six months. Print, broadcast or online journalists with at least five years of experience are eligible. Jo Weir, project manager for the Reuters Foundation, says the fellowships will go to journalists who can take what they learn and share it with their newsrooms back home. The program covers all travel, living and tuition costs. It pays no expenses for visiting family members. Besides the fellowships for journalists from developing or transition countries, the foundation and its sponsors also offer grants to journalists from Eastern and Western Europe, India, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea and the United States. Applicants must submit a few short essays, two reference letters, and samples of their work. For more details: http://www.foundation.reuters.com/Fellowships/oxford_applying.asp.
