Context of the project:
In May 2004, with very big success, was organised CMS COMPOSING
THE EUROPEAN MOSAIC , where were examined the subjects of extension
of Union with the 10 new members. However new challenges and subjects
are presented. The process of the EU enlargement will bring to the
political and economical integration of 25 countries into the present
EU context. Without any doubt one of the challenges of the European
enlargement is, beyond its economic and political significance, the
success in developing a real feeling of 'European citizenship',
mutually shared by all European people and in particular of a sense of
ownership of this entity, the perception of being essential part of it
and of being represented by it as well as the agreement to the common
sets of rights and obligations but also of values and principles that
it furthers.
Strengthening inter-cultural dialogues, solidarity bonds,
cooperation and exchanges among the societies that will be called to
be part of this structure seems to be an essential key in this
process.
This is particularly important for the young people, the future
'European generations', whose experience of European citizenship
involves important questions such as the access to rights concerning
mobility, education and the labour market, as well as the question of
the motivation of young people to actively participate and get
involved in the European dimension of their lives.
Information and awareness raising are only the first steps to
enter this process and to promote behaviours models that, far from
being stereotyped and too generalized, can promote a real cultural and
social improvement of the new generations based on knowledge, mutual
understanding and solidarity.
In this context the project intends to promote exchange and
cooperation among the young people from 'new' EU and the 'future' EU
States on issues that they consider as 'priorities' for their personal
development and for a more effective engagement as active members of
their respective societies in the European perspective. The extension
of .U. to the east's with the incorporation of Turkey and other
Balkan states, places new challenges in the common European future.
The Constitution is one still big step to front. Main objective is the
investigation from the representatives of institutions of youth of all
questions with regard to the Constitution, the integration of Turkey
and other countries, but also the investigation after roughly one and
half year after the EUROPEAN MOSAIC 1 (May 2004), the current dynamics
of reflections of youth in all the sovereign subjects that him occupy.
