International comparative research is especially welcome. The research position, which can be filled for 3 to 5 years, enables the candidate to qualify for professorial status by writing a habilitation thesis. The salary, based on the German public service scale, is BAT IIa. The position will be open as of 1 October 2005. The successful candidate will have an excellent academic record and an exceptional knowledge of sociological methodology and the English language. He or she will also have demonstrated a profound interest in scholarly research and an academic career.
