The
project prepared by Andrei Costea from the International Kostence Computer
High School, established by the Turkish entrepreneurs in Romania, together
with another student from Ovidius High School, Flaviu Birsan, was deemed
worthy of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA)
great award. The project entitled, 'Life Station in Space' foresees installing a satellite between the Moon and the Earth and the settlement of 25 thousand people there. The project, prepared jointly by Andrei Costea and Flaviu Birsan, made it to the finals along with the other seven best projects in the NASA contest . Three hundered projects from around the world were entered. Professor Ion Bararu acts as head of the team. While the other projects were prepared by teams consisting of 10-12 members, the fact that the Romanian project was prepared by only two students along with a student adviser greatly amazed the NASA officials. Congratulating the success of the Romanian
students, NASA officials invited both students to Kennedy Space Center
located in Florida, US for a joint project, which will be realized on July
15 2005. The students will work on a new project for four days with the
NASA engineers and teams from Austria and India. Bucharest | |
