Global Education News is a monthly electronic newsletter where national global education coordinators or practitioners can share global education news and best practices, useful thematic links and educational materials. It also serves as a medium for the North-South Centre global education network national coordinators' own use. Complementary information about the North-South Centre activities can be found on the Interdependent or on Dialogue Newsletter published bimonthly by the Policy Dialogue Unit. Dear colleagues, September was a milestone for all concerned by sustainable development! A time to reflect on the Millenium Development Goals achievements 5 years on and a time to reflect on how solid are good resolutions when it comes to practical results. The future of our planet transcends our boundaries and depends also on how active and responsible citizens we afford to be: the UN September Summit under § 7and Education for Citizenship under § 2 are the main topics in this issue, including the assessment of quality education accessible through useful links under §2 and § 4. Reference articles related to these issues can be found also under § 4 and §5. But you will find much more about development and democracy processes and actions in this newsletter!
