Cred ca majoritatea vocilor rationale vor spune ca ar fi oportun sa se considere redeschiderea adoptiilor internationale din Romania, insa nu oricum. Oficialii romani ar trebui sa stabileasca mai intii o mai buna monitorizare a adoptiei internationale cu fiecare tara in care exista interes. Nimeni nu doreste ca vreun copil roman sa sufere ca urmare a unei adoptii internationale.
Sunt citeva aspecte ce pot fi discutate: cursuri obligatorii pentru parintii adoptivi privind dificultatile de crestere a unui copil adoptat international, testarea medicala minutioasa a parintilor adoptivi, monitorizarea cuplului adoptiv pre-adoptie de catre specialistii romani pe o perioada in care copilul este dat in foster care in Romania (pe 3 luni de exemplu), invatarea limbii romane de catre parintii adoptivi, post-monitorizare pe o perioada mai lunga, si mai frecventa, stabilirea unor proceduri de comunicare intre autoritatile competente din tarile implicate in adoptie, astfel incit sa fie trimise in tara de origine rapoarte privind progresul adoptiei internationale.
