Sincerely, Leyla Moore Here is the post: I'm curious, for the purposes of my dissertation, how Romanians in the group feel about the U.S. Agency for International Development's work in Romania. I don't know if anyone in the group has had direct experience with them, or with other international organizations working in Romania. Specifically, I've come across a lot of stuff saying that Communism was a major contributor to Romanians not trusting foreigners, or outside development groups. I've read that this lack of trust can also be a major problems in getting Romanian nonprofits to cooperate with each other. I wonder how true these ideas are and if anyone has any comments on them. Also, I wonder how Romanians in the group feel about how much groups like USAID have actually involved Romanians in their work, how well they've really sought to get Romanians to participate in their projects. Since I'm asking these things for my dissertation, I must say that no one will be specifically identified, all answers will remain anonymous and confidential. Since I'm asking for my own curiosity as well, I'll say thank you for anything said and for helping me to understand things a bit outside of the textbooks.
