We are a K-12 school in Istanbul, Turkey, looking for partner schools for three projects: 1-One Person, Two Homelands, 2- Healthy, Active, Organic, 3- Synthesizing Language, It, Music And Culture. For each project, we need 4-5 partners, at least two partners school must be from EU member countries as we wish to apply for Comenius grants (others might be from any country). Our aim is to raise awareness on problems faced both in homeland and host country/city when people cross cultural /linguistic / geographical / economic borders and migrate elsewhere. We are especially interested in finding partners from countries that have intense migration from Turkey. We are intending to present our project through a short film competition, a jointly prepared website, and a published collection of interviews, short stories. contact person: [EMAIL PROTECTED] HEALTHY, ACTIVE, ORGANIC We are intending to do a project to raise awareness among students in different countries on the benefits of organic farming. We are looking for partner schools that can provide a plot of land for their primary school students to actively practice organic farming. During this project the students will be growing their own produce, keeping a diary of their observations and experience, researching the benefits of organic farming. They will gather all their findings in the form of a booklet accompanied by a CD containing a video recording of the stages of the project which will be published in the languages of the partner schools and distributed to local schools. Participant students will fund the publication of the booklet and the CD through a variety of fund raising activities including the sale of produce. contact person: [EMAIL PROTECTED] SYNTHESIZING LANGUAGE, IT, MUSIC AND CULTURE We're planning on carrying out a project integrating language learning, music, cultural awareness, information and communication technologies. The intention of this project is to raise awareness of students' own folk music and the folk music of partner schools' cultures. While carrying out this project, we are aiming to emphasize language learning through translation of lyrics of own folk songs, the study of partner schools' lyrics and writing new lyrics to partner schools' songs. To do this they will be using internet to research vocabulary, the background of the songs, the history and culture of the partners.
