NICE - Network Involving Citizens of Europe, 3 – 7th April 2007, 
Targu- Jiu - Romania 


The Association "Youngsters without Borders" (YWB) from Romania is 
organizing the Seminar "NICE - Network Involving Citizens of Europe" 
that will take place in Tirgu Jiu Romania from 3-7th of April 2007. 
The project counts with the support and participation of 
the "European Platform for Youth Development"(EPYD).

"NICE - Network Involving Citizens of Europe" aims at promoting 
volunteerism in the Caucasus and Balkans regions, with an accent on 
European Voluntary Service, as a means to provide opportunities of 
self awareness and intercultural learning. NICE is aimed also to 
provide the space for opportunities to act as multipliers for 
spurring European awareness and active participation, establishing 
bridges of cooperation amongst participating NGOs. 

"NICE - Network Involving Citizens of Europe" has partner's 
association from 15 countries: Albania, Denmark, Macedonia, Portugal, 
Romania, Serbia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Italy, Turkey, Croatia, 
Armenia, Ukraine, Moldova and Greece.

The seminar runs in the framework of European Youth Campaign "All 
Different all Equal" (www.alldifferent-allequal.info) and is financed 
by the Council of Europe through European Youth Foundation and the 
European Commission through the Youth Programme as part of the 
Multilateral EVS project "Networking for European Citizenship".

NICE - Network Involving Citizens of Europe is part of the pilot 
programme ENGAGE Citizens developed by the Association "Youngsters 
without Borders" (YWB) Romania  in partnership with "Regional 
Association for Rural Development" and "European Platform for Youth 
Development" (EPYD). 

ENGAGE CITIZENS was established in order to boost civic activism, 
participation in voting, philanthropy, foster new approaches for 
empowering citizens to develop active citizenship and leadership 
skills encouraging citizens to participate in the political process. 
ENGAGE CITIZENS teaches potential leaders, particularly women and 
youths, to effectively engage other citizens in community programs. 
ENGAGE CITIZENS works to bring different generations and cultures 
together to exchange ideas. Through this program, emerging leaders 
receive leadership training and explore community issues.
