BUCHAREST, FEB 4 The National Office for Refugees received in January 2007, 33 requests for asylum from foreign citizens compared to only 22 requests in January 2006. Most of the applicants are Iraqi and Somali people. Out of 454 requests for asylum in 2006, 65 came from Iraqi citizens, 45 from Chinese citizens, 38 from Somali citizens, 23 from Turkish citizens, 19 from Georgian citizens, 17 from Pakistani citizens and 12 from Syrians and Iranians.
