22 Feb (NucNet): The first loading of a total of 4,560 nuclear fuel bundles at unit two of Romania's Cernavoda nuclear power plant was completed at 01.30 local time today. The loading operation began on 15 February 2007. The next milestone for the unit will be the loading of the primary circuit with heavy water, which is scheduled to take place at the end of February, national utility Nuclearelectrica said. Cernavoda-2, a 655-megawatt pressurised heavy water reactor, is scheduled to start commercial operation in September 2007.
