I am writing to you from the Municipality of Cherven Bryag, Pleven Region in neighboring Bulgaria. I am part of a project team which is currently preparing a project in order to apply for a PHARE Program grant from the EU. The project is called "Sustainable Development and Biodiversity Conservation in the Cross-Border Region between Bulgaria and Romania." On behalf of the Civic Initiative for European Partnership, the group I am working with, I would like to ask you to help us get in touch with any municipality, NGO, teaching institution, etc. from the Romanian regions bordering Bulgaria, who might be interested in establishing a long term partnership and exchange with us, currently for the purpose of applying for this PHARE Program grant. Any help on your part will be greatly appreciated! We are especially looking for a partner from the Olt or Teleorman Regions. More information about our project ideas will be provided in case you or anyone you could help us get in touch with express interest in partnering with us. But in two words, our project ideas concern conservation and protection of endangered bird species and their habitats, and building upon that, providing for the development of tourism and other forms of local sustainable development in the Cherven Bryag Municipality, and respectively in the region of our potential Romanian partner.
