*TERMS OF REFFERENCE AND CALL FOR POSITION VACANCY* *Program Coordinator: National and International Trainings* *Recruiting organisation: *Peace, Action, Training and Research Institute of Romania (PATRIR), Cluj - Napoca *Position: *Program Coordinator – National and International Trainings *Application Deadline: *May 31st, 2007 The Romanian Peace Institute (PATRIR) is a dynamic and rapidly growing organization which has established itself as one of the leading training institutions in the field of peacebuilding and conflict transformation. Providing training in Romania and internationally, the Institute works in close cooperation with many of the world's leading training centers and those requesting training, including the United Nations, governments, and national and international institutions. The Institute is searching for a highly motivated, capable and committed individual to hire for the position of Program Coordinator for National and International Trainings. *About the Position: Program Coordinator – National and International Trainings * The Program Coordinator will have responsibility for managing and implementing the Institute's coordination and development of National and International trainings in cooperation with the Administrative Director of TRANSCEND Peace University (TPU) and the Institute's Peacebuilding Department. *Duties and Responsabilities: * - Develop and implement a strategic plan for National and International Trainings, including establishment of clear strategic objectives and development lines - Administer recruitment, acceptance and pre-travel support for participants to Training Programs, including applications for visa and close cooperation with the Romanian National Visa Center and Centre for Foreign Citizens - Implement the Development of a Training Database and Roster of Trainers and Programs - Coordinate logistics and preparation for International and National training Programs organized within PATRIR - Report, measure, evaluate and analyze results according to indicators developed in conjunction with the Strategic Plan - Implement Strategic Partnership and Cooperation Program with national and international institutions and partners, including UN, training institutions, national and international governments, and agencies - Manage financial accounting for training programs reporting to the PATRIR Council of Directors - Be part of a team responsible for identifying possible funding sources and developing funding applications together with national and international partners. *Position requirements * *Essential:* - Degree in peacebuilding, project management or another subject relevant to the field. A Masters degree is preferred but not mandatory. - Proven ability to create and implement a strategic plan and to manage a team of people - Good leadership and innovation skills, and responsibility in implementing duties - Commitment to the promotion of the work of the Institute and its core mission and values; - Ability to meet deadlines under pressure and to work well with a team - Capacity to work in a multicultural environment; - Excellent administrative and organizational skills and a strong interest in administrative tasks - Attention to detail; - Excellent oral/written communication and inter-personal skills - Strategic vision and initiative; - Fluency in English. Knowledge of Romanian also preferred. *Desirable:* - Experience and commitment to working with a highly professional and committed team; - Ability to make responsible decisions under stress; - Strong personal motivation and commitment to professionalism; - Desire to play a role in working for positive change and peacebuilding. Starting salary for the positions is commensurate with experience and stands in the range of a medium income for Program Managers in the country. *About PATRIR* PATRIR is an independent practice and policy oriented Peace Research Institute founded in 2001. The Institute engages in peacebuilding and peace support operations – from top level to grassroots and community-based – assisting in the development of effective infrastructure for peace, developing peace technologies, tools, and methodology, training professional capacities, support for strategic planning, comprehensive frameworks and program development, direct engagement in peacebuilding and conflict transformation, assisting violence prevention, war to peace transition and post-war recovery and reconciliation.
