If I'm not mistaken, "Romany" is used in reference to their language, while
the correct term for the people is "Rom" (plural "Roma").

I beg to differ. The word in English is "Romany", not "romani". Furthermore,
it is capitalized, as it refers to a people, the Gypsies. TOL is a Czech
site, so can be excused, perhaps, for incorrect usage of the term.
