Reinforcing Links in Asia

Many thousands of European researchers are  currently working in Asia,
and Japan and China are amongst the most popular  destinations. The
European Commission has taken the initiative to launch  networks in
these two countries, providing information about research
opportunities amongst other things.

Humboldt Foundation signs European Charter for Researchers

The  Humboldt Foundation is a non-profit foundation dedicated to the
promotion of  international research cooperation. It has now become
the first funding  organisation in Germany  to pledge to abide by new
European standards.

How mobile are EU researchers within Europe?

For  researchers, mobility is about opportunities to work with the

Making researchers' mobility easier in France
=============================================
Directive 2005/71 from  October 2005, concerning non-EU foreign
researchers, was adopted at the end of  2007 in France. This new
legislation brings many innovations within the French  immigration
laws. It paves the way for greater mobility through more flexible
rules and simplified procedures.

Researchers' Night 2007: a Very Positive Evolution

European Researchers' Night is a pan-European event centred on
researchers that brings  them closer to one another and to the public.
The aim &ndash; a chance for the  public, especially young people, to
meet researchers and, through festive  activities, to better
understand researchers and their role. A positive  side-effect is to
show youngsters the appeal of pursuing a research career.

Rewarding Excellence in European Research

On March 12, Brussels played host to the European Science Awards 2007,

scientists and researchers in Europe.
