Dear colleagues, Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning is partner in the European project "PRECISE - Project E-Courses Informatics Special English" coordinated by SZAMALK Vocational School from Hungary. The project is co-financed by the European Commission within the Lifelong Learning Programme, Leonardo da Vinci programme (Agreement n° 07/0227-L/4013). The partnership of the project comprises 6 organisations from 5 European countries: Hungary, UK, Bulgaria, Portugal and Romania. The specific objectives of the project are: - to produce an online course for practicing- or future IT teachers (with a minimum of over A2 English language level input) that will provide the resources and structure in an online environment to enrich, improve and evaluate their English skills; - to improve and benefit from those experiences and outcomes that gained from a previous Leonardo project, in which were developed and tested two evaluation methods, electronic and portfolio. The target group of the project is represented by IT teachers and trainers and those teachers of English who are training to become online tutors. The tangible outcomes of the project are: - an interactive electronic online English course developed in Moodle environment with the content suitable for individual study and using novel methodological approaches (portfolio and electronic evaluation, collaborative online work etc.) - Online evaluation system (based on the software developed in the previous Leonardo project) that will assess individual progress and serve as a basis for issuing certificates - Guide and Toolbox that will serve not only as a manual for the individual user but provide supplementary exercises and a list of recommended resources and external links - A shortened Tutors ` course for potential online tutors with an insight into the course and methodology recommendations - Essay based on the needs analysis that will not only analyze the needs and give recommendations for the developers but will offer pedagogic recommendations regarding portfolio assessment, collaborative course building and self evaluation methodology. The partnership has currently finished the needs analysis phase and has started to work on the development of the English course. Proiectul este co-finantat de Comisia Europeana in cadrul Programului "Lifelong Learning", actiunea Leonardo da Vinci (Nr. Ref. 07/0227-L/4013). Parteneriatul proiectului este format din 6 organizatii din 5 tari europene: Ungaria, Marea Britanie, Bulgaria, Portugalia si Romania. Obiectivele specifice ale proiectului constau in: - realizarea unui curs online pentru viitori sau actuali profesori de informatica (cu un nivel minim de engleza A2) care va furniza resursele si structura intr-un mediu online pentru a le permite sa-si perfectioneze si evalueze abilitatile de limba engleza; - imbunatatirea si valorizarea experientelor si rezultatelor dobandite intr-un proiect anterior Leonardo, in care au fost dezvoltate si testate doua metode de evaluare, electronic si portofoliu. Grupul tinta al proiectului este reprezentat de profesorii si trainerii de informatica, precum si profesori de limba engleza care se formeaza sa devina tutori de cursuri online. Rezultatele proiectului sunt: - Un curs electronic interactiv online de limba engleza, creat in mediul Moodle cu un continut potrivit pentru studiile individuale si folosirea abordarilor metodologice noi (portofoliu si evaluari electronice, munca online de colaborare, etc.); - Un sistem online de evaluare (bazat pe programele software dezvoltate in proiectul anterior Leonardo) care va evalua progresul individual si va servi ca baza pentru eliberarea diplomelor; - Ghid si Cutie cu unelte" care vor servi nu numai drept manual pentru utilizatorul individual, dar vor furniza si exercitii suplimentare si o lista de resurse si link-uri externe recomandate; - Un scurt manual al profesorului pentru potentialii tutori de curs online, cu detalii despre curs si recomandari metodologice; - Un eseu bazat pe analiza nevoilor, care pe langa recomandari pentru dezvoltatori de curs, va oferi si recomandari pedagogice privind evaluarea portofoliului, dezvoltarea cursului colaborativ, si metodologia de autoevaluare. In prezent parteneriatul a finalizat faza de analiza a nevoilor si a inceput dezvoltarea cursului de limba engleza. Societatea Romana pentru Educatie Permanenta va va tine la curent cu evolutia proiectului.
