Call for Applications - GRSP Working Groups

GRSPSociety is an open network of organizations and individuals
committed to advancing Romania 's development and modernization
through civic involvement and professionalism. GRSPSociety has members
in 12 countries and is currently expanding to include students and
professionals from all countries. More information can be found here:
http://www.grspsociety.org

GRSPSociety is launching a call for the creation of specialized
working groups. The GRSPSociety working groups are intended to become
the main functional units of the association. They will allow our
members and partners to interact on a professional basis and are meant
to become a forum for interaction and debate as well as to provide an
opportunity for continuous professional development for those
involved. The following working groups will be formed:

    * Democracy and Participation (WG-DP)
    * Education and Research (WG-ER)
    * Culture and Arts (WG-CA)
    * Business and Finance (WG-BF)
    * Public Administration and Public Policy (WG-PA/PP)
    * International Migration (WG-IM)
    * Romania's Image Abroad (WG-RO)

The working groups will be primarily but not exclusively focused on
the following key activities: policy research, advocacy, civic
campaigning, communication with members and non-members, organization
of academic/public events, and specialized projects.

The membership of each working group typically will typically consist of:

- Graduate students working towards their MA or PhD degrees

- Early career professionals (0-5 years working experience)

- Mid career professionals (5-10 years working experience)

Membership in the working groups is free, voluntary, and not limited
by geography.

At the November 2008 founding conference of the GRSPSociety in
Budapest , the seven groups mentioned above were tentatively approved.
Depending on the interest shown in this round, they will be formally
established or remain idle until the next call. GRSPSociety is looking
forward to receiving proposals for other working groups which may
address challenges currently faced by Romanian society. It is
generally expected that the working groups will run their own
promotion and activities, with the assistance of the GRSPSociety
Extended Board. It is also expected that they will contribute to the
agenda of future GRSPSociety events (e.g. GRSP Annual Conference).

If you are interested in joining, please submit a CV by the 1st of
March 2009 to the following address: office@ grspsociety.org. In the
subject line, please enter the acronym of the working group(s) of
interest (not more than two). Details about the formation and
composition of the groups will follow by 7th of March.

Welcome aboard,

GRSPSociety Board
