CESifo Study: Anti-crisis measures in Romania among most inefficient in the world <http://www.actmedia.eu/media/img/text_zones/English/small_23182.jpg> The anti-crisis measures adopted in Romania are among the most inefficient in Europe and the world as structure and size, while the economic crisis determines Romanian companies to reduce efforts of fighting corruption, according to a CESifo study. On a scale from 1 to 9, measures of fighting the financial and economic crisis adopted in Romania were evaluated at 1.3 points resulting from the centralization of opinions of 12 Romanian economists interviewed by CESifo. The only country in Europe with a lower classification is Latvia with 1 point and at world level only Bolivia, Guatemala and Venezuela obtained inferior evaluations of 1 point. Norway obtained the highest mark of 7.4 in the world. The other countries whose anti-crisis measures exceeded 7 are China, Australia and Denmark. The United States the largest world economy, got a 5 from the economists interviewed by CESifo for the anti-crisis measures introduced.1 point represents inefficient measures as size and structure to reduce crisis effects, 5 indicates more or less sufficient measures and 9 represents absolutely sufficient initiatives, according to CESIfo a research group sponsored by the Center for Economic Studies of Munich University and Ifo Institute of Economic Research from Germany. Economic climate remains unfavorable in Central and Eastern Europe and decline below satisfactory levels has deepened, the analysis shows. Economic expectations for the next 6 months have improved because of a better world situation but it remains in the negative area, the study based on conclusions of CESifo World Economic Survey made in August for the third quarter of the year shows. The poll was made by Ifo and the International Trade Chamber from Paris. On the other hand, CESifo analysis shows that Romania is among the countries with the fewest juridical and administrative restrictions for foreign companies and the political instability factor can deteriorate the business environment for foreign investors. Moreover, about half of interviewed economists consider that firms and companies in Romania could reduce measures for fighting corruption as a result of the financial and economic crisis, a situation met in Argentina, Turkey, South Korea, Portugal, Taiwan, Bulgaria Peru and Paraguay.
