Dear friends, The mission of the Romanian Education Foundation (REF - www.roed.org) is to improve educational access for talented students. In 2008 we received donations which helped us pay for 6 students' college entrance exams--a financial barrier to a good education that is covered by few aid organizations. This year we have received applications from 18 students and have been able to help 6 of them with the cost of their TOEFL, SAT, and GMAT exams thanks to the generous support of 9 donors who have contributed $1,820 to date. With your help we hope to raise $3,000 by the end of this year so that we can help at least 10 students in 2009. We ask you to please help us through your donations. We are especially pleased and encouraged by the donations of students helped by REF in the past, who are now helping a new generation of students. We have received generous donations from twenty-seven of the over 120 students who have received REF scholarships in the past.
