MON, February 4, 11 am-4 pm | RCINY - Auditorium
Return to Romania – a dialogue with students in the US
Preceded by Alexandru Solomon's documentary Cold Waves

RCINY invites Romanian students in the US , starting with 2 pm, to join H.E.
Nicholas Taubman, US Ambassador to Romania , and H.E. Adrian Vierita, Romanian
Ambassador to the US , and AmCham delegates in an open discussion about dreams,
expectations and real opportunities awaiting students returning to Romania .
The Ambassadors will present their perspectives on what Romania of today has to
offer upon graduation.

The discussion will be preceded, at 11 am, by the screening of Alexandru
Solomon's most recent film, Cold Waves. This gripping documentary tells the
story of a love and hate triangle built around something one cannot see, touch
or weigh: radio waves. It is a film about the war between Radio Free Europe and
the Ceausescu regime who went as far as hiring Carlos the Jackal to annihilate
key-people who put their voices on air. "While Ceausescu was alive, we knew who
was Good (the West, mainly the USA ) and who the Evil was. Since then, things
turned to be more complicated" (Alexandru Solomon). [Private screening, please
confirm your attendance.]
