April 16, 17, 18, 2010 BRAUN CORNER, 450 SERRA MALL (Geology Corner), Bldg. 320, Stanford University. All films will be screened in Romanian with English subtitles. Seating is limited so please arrive early. FREE ADMISSION The Festival will feature some of the most recent, critically acclaimed films from Romania, including several carefully selected feature films, shorts, and documentaries. The discussion panel and the Q&A sessions, conducted by a group of Romanian film personalities and academics from U.S. universities, will focus on the New Wave of the Romanian cinema. This is the first event of this kind ever organized at a U.S. university. �The Romanian Film Festival & Forum has already shaped into a program which promises to be one of the most exciting events of this year at Stanford� says Robert Wessling, CREEES associate director. The event is presented by CREEES (Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies), Stanford University, in conjunction with Casa Romana (Bay Area Romanian Community), Romanian Cultural Institute, Bucharest, Romania, the Film & Media Studies, Department of Art and Art History, Stanford University, and the Romanian Student Association, Stanford University, with additional support from the Honorary Consulate of Romania in San Francisco, the Drama Department at Stanford University, the Institute of Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies at the University of California, Berkeley, the National Center of Cinematography, Romania and the "Nicolae Tonitza" High School, Bucharest, Romania and sponsored by the Stanford Graduate Student Council and Coupa Caf�, Palo Alto.
