zwoelf: two things about that:  
   
 1. Are you declaring your message as MIME and setting the correct 
Content-type?  If you don't, the Citadel server will reject the message if 
it's not the correct Content-type for the type of room you're posting in.  
   
 2. Are you sure you want to do this via IMAP?  Unless you have some sort 
of existing IMAP client library, you might find it easier to just have 
your program talk to Citadel in its native protocol.
