That's because it uses the Manager to do that one.  There are separate debug
variables for the Manager and Object.  Set both to see everything:

    local $Rose::DB::Object::Debug = 1;
    local $Rose::DB::Object::Manager::Debug = 1;

As for the actual problem, I'm looking into it now...
