It shouldn't be necessary. The loader should detect and configure the
sequence.  It does actually do that in memory (see t/db-object-auto.t
for an example) but the Perl code generated by perl_class_definition()
does not reproduce that setup correctly due to a bug.

This is now fixed in SVN and the fix will be included in the next
release.  Thanks for the report.
