i found the issue-- a call to strip() that was shortly after the load
killed the child object.
so let me rephrase this question:
i thought strip() wasn't supposed to remove fkeys/rels ? it seems
to be doing so in .765
If anyone looked at my pseudocode earlier, please forgive me for
writing with_objects instead of with. it was correct on my code,
just not on the posting.
