David,   The Rational Web site does have a page of recent patches.  I wouldn't know if your particular problem is addressed by one of them, as I do not work with VC++ on my project.  From Rational's main page, go to "Support", "Upgrades and Patches" then Rose.  You'll need to scan through several different issues, but if they have a published workaround, it should be there.   Good luck,   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |       Frances H.
