which rose.ini file did you change?
You may have changed the rose.ini in the rose directory.
You need to change it in your personal profile.

open a script
tools:new script
and run the one line script

Sub Main
         MsgBox roseapp.GetRoseIniPath(),,"Rose Ini File Directory"
End Sub

It will tell you where the rose.ini file is that you are using.

Subject: (ROSE) Test of the Style lines default option

I've just changed the RectilinearLinesUML option in my Rose.ini file. After
rebooting, and started again Rose, my defaut RectilinearLinesUML has not
changed. Is it a bug ?

---------------------------------------------------------------

The RectilinearLinesUML setting enables you to use rectilinear or oblique
lines when representing a relationship in a diagram. The easiest way to
change this setting is through the GUI. However, you can change this
setting directly in the rose.ini file.
GUI Settings
On the Edit menu, point to Change Line Styles, and then click either
rectilinear or oblique. You may also click Toggle to switch between
rectilinear and oblique.

Rose.ini Settings
Type Yes to display rectilinear lines.
Default Setting
The RectilinearLinesUML default setting is No.
